This summer a service will be offered from Donostia to Pasaia by sea. But this plan is not just a trip on board: it is a unique opportunity to enjoy our coast and learn more about our rich maritime heritage.
This is not just any boat, but the classic Lucretia sailboat, a Dutch sailboat built in 1927 with teak, oak and mahogany. This treasure of 19.3 meters in length and more than 180m2 of sailing area is one of the oldest sailing boats that navigate our sea.
In a 2-hour trip, we will be able to contemplate some of the most beautiful spots on our coast, from the particular perspective offered by the sea: the bay of La Concha, the cliffs of Mount Ulia and the spectacular entrance to the bay of Pasaia, among others. Meanwhile, we will be given explanations to get to know the surroundings and to understand the sailing techniques of the boat.
Once in Pasaia, it is time to visit the Albaola Maritime Factory; the sailboat will leave us at the entrance. Here, besides knowing our particular maritime history, we will be able to see live the construction of the replica of the San Juan whaleboat. The smell of wood and the noise of the hammers will take us to another era.
We finish the visit to Albaola and we will have to take the motorboat to get to Pasaia, since part of the way is closed. The motorboat will leave us in Trintxerpe or in Pasai San Pedro and from here we can finish the day in Pasaia: visit the eco-active museum-boat Mater at the dock of Pasai San Pedro, cross to Pasai Donibane and walk through the historical centre to the inlet of the bay or, why not, give yourself a treat and taste its gastronomy. In the village you will find a good offer of fish and seafood
