HERE OIARTZUN

Oiartzun is nature. No cualquier naturaleza: naturaleza viva. With the aroma of Navarre, with ancient magical histories in its forests. With hundreds of hamlets and mountain slopes, an entire valley in itself: neighborhoods and villages, streams and streets, perfect for getting lost and finding yourself. Oiartzun is large, wide, and cannot be covered in one day: Ergoien nos lleva to Aritxulegi, the refuge of Arritxulo. From Altzibar and Karrika, instead, we arrive at Bianditza and Artikutza. Iturriotz has spectacular houses such as the Torre house or the Makutxo farmhouse. Cross medal Aiako Harria and el Bidasoa. From Ugaldetxo and Arragua we follow the river Oiartzun through Oarsoaldea…

The Oiartzun river originates in the Natural Park of Aiako Harria, crosses the entire Oarsoaldea and flows into the Cantabrian Sea. It has an air of the Roman era, in the mines of Arditurri, but Oiartzun is much older. In its corners, the lives, names and deeds of Basques from centuries ago are preserved. Even today: here is the corner of folk music, one of our little jewels. Ancient traditions are renewed here. Oiartzun is innovative. Very old, very present and, above all, very current.
