AN ESSENTIAL STOP TO DISCOVER AIAKO HARRIA SUSTAINABLY
From July 2 to October 12, the Errenteria City Council, the Oarsoaldea Development Agency, and the Behemendi Association will once again launch the information point and surveillance service of Listorreta-Barrengoloia. Located at one of the main entrances to the Aiako Harria Natural Park and Special Area of Conservation (SAC), which is integrated into the Natura 2000 Network, this space will welcome visitors and offer the opportunity to discover our natural environment and heritage in a sustainable way.
Once again, this 2026, the information point will provide a wide range of services to citizens and visitors. Staff will provide detailed information on approved trails, the forest reserve of the Añarbe Natural Evolution Zone, mountain wetlands, fauna, flora, and the area’s rich megalithic heritage. Likewise, information will be offered on orienteering routes or free guided tours that will take place in the surroundings during the summer season.
Regarding the Aizpitarte caves, visitors are reminded that access to the interior is closed to protect the valuable rock art engravings they house. The best way to learn about the importance and history of this archaeological treasure is to visit the information point.
As a new opportunity to connect differently with this environment and our prehistoric heritage, the company Temporal Explorers has developed an outdoor escape room in the Listorreta area. This experience, titled “The Flame of Prehistory,” immerses participants in the Paleolithic era through games and riddles. This is a paid activity (€15 per person) that offers a fun way to enjoy the surroundings. Listorreta-Barrengoloia has become one of the most important recreational areas in Gipuzkoa, making it vitally important that visitors respect nature and comply with the rules of use, thus ensuring the sustainability of this space. The information point will emphasize the importance of respecting these regulations. To complement this work, a surveillance officer will patrol the recreational area to inform and remind visitors of the current regulations, as well as to raise awareness about the importance of caring for and preserving this environment.

- Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays: from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
