A New Collection of Traditional Songs and Verses from the Oiartzun Valley

A unique opportunity to discover hidden gems from Oiartzun’s traditional songbook. This event will present old songs and verses that were collected and recorded directly from local informants, showcasing the richness of the Oiartzun Valley’s oral heritage.

The aim of the event is to share and celebrate this musical and literary tradition. A variety of resources will be used throughout the session, including original audio recordings, video projections, live performances by the presenter, and audience participation when the melodies are familiar. In addition, if any of the original informants attend, they may also perform some of the pieces themselves.

All songs and verses will be performed a cappella, preserving their original character and authenticity.
